3 days remain.
I only have 3 more days in Canada.
There are only 3 more days until my wife and I begin our new life in Seoul, Korea.
How did it get this way? How did we end up leaving our ministry and our life in Montreal to move to the other side of the world? How were [...]

the full story – Michael Guglielmucci’s Deception
Almost a month ago, Michael Guglielmucci, a pastor in Australia who had written and sung “Healer” on the latest Hillsong album, came out and confessed that he had been living a life of deception. For the past two years, he had deceived everyone, his wife and parents included, and told them that he had terminal [...]

animals and spirituality
As you can see in this picture, my wife and I have a puppy – his name is Teddy and he’s almost 6 months old.
For the past couple of days, we have been babysitting Christina’s parent’s two dogs and it’s been fascinating to see the interaction between the three of them.
The most significant thing that [...]

how to memorize scripture…
While listening to a sermon by John Piper, I was encouraged by the way he explained how he meditated on scripture. For in Psalm 19:14 it says, “May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my redeemer.” And it also says in [...]

an image of faith
Faith is such a lofty word and it’s hard to imagine what a life of faith would look like.
The following is a description of my mental image of faith…
Imagine a cliff – high up, isolated, dusty, and majestic.

our calling in life…
“Every assignment that God gives His people is His primary means of sanctifying His leader.”
These are the words of Crawford Loritts that have encouraged me today. In a sermon entitled The Call to Courage from the 2008 Desiring God Pastor’s Conference, Loritts digs out an amazing insight from Joshua 1:1-9 regarding the calling that God has [...]

conversation with a Korean taxi driver
Sitting in an airport just outside of Seoul, South Korea, I can’t help but reflect on the conversation I just had with the cab driver who drove me to the airport.
I was initially going to take the bus to the airport, but as I was waiting, a taxi driver approached me and asked if I [...]

Remorse after murder…
“I have to stay on this bus forever.”
and
“Please kill me.”
These are the two statements coming out of the mouth of Vince Weiguang Li, the man who murdered Tim McLean on a Greyhound bus last week.
Since his arrest he has yet to speak to his court-appointed attorney and the prosecutors.
Here is a bit more information about [...]

bus murder…where was God?
I just read the story about the horrific bus murder that occured on a Greyhound bus traveling from Winnipeg to Edmonton.
My heart is wrenching and at unrest.
I cannot simply process or begin to comprehend how someone could just stab, murder, decapitate, and carve up another human being, who he “seemingly” didn’t know.
